The Burnaby Steelers are pleased to announce the signing of 2009-born defender Michalis Kefalas.
The native of Vancouver, BC, is set to play his first full-season with the organization after being an affiliate player last season while also playing in the CSSHL for the Burnaby Winter Club’s U17 Prep team.
In 30 games last year with the BWC, Kefalas registered one goal and nine assists for 10 points. The 5’9” and 176 lbs. product should have no problems fitting in with the Steelers.
“Michalis is a young defenceman with a strong skillset, good hockey sense, and a level of maturity that really stood out to us,” said Steelers General Manager Craig Carter.
“We believe he has a lot of potential, and we’re excited to see him continue to develop and become an important part of our blue line,” he added.
The Burnaby Steelers would like to extend a warm welcome to Michalis and the Kefalas family.
The Steelers open the 2026-2027 season in Langley on Saturday, September 19. The team plays their home opener on Sunday, September 20.
